To the Editor:
Fairfield is very fortunate to have a terrific candidate, Dru Georgiadis, running for state representative for the 132nd District. I have known Dru for many years, and I cannot imagine a more resilient and ambitious person to represent all of us in Hartford.
Dru is very well educated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina. She spent 15 years working in New York City and that experience will be invaluable at the Capitol as she navigates budgets and negotiates bills. Her business experience will give her a practical perspective on the issues that face the state and its businesses. And she is the mother of four boys including triplets giving her a foundational understanding of our school system and the inherent needs to improve our educational process. In addition, Dru commuted on Metro North in her working years, so she is very sensitive to the issues that face our commuters.
She is currently serving on Fairfield’s RTM representing District 9 and she is the Vice Chair of the Public Works and Planning Committee as well as being a committee member for Senior Tax Relief. Dru has been a tireless advocate for our town and our children, working as a volunteer in the schools for many years and coaching sports. She has always sought ways to make Fairfield a better town and invested her tireless energy and enthusiasm in projects and programs that have truly made a difference.
As a Republican, I may not be an obvious person to write a letter to the editor in support of a Democratic candidate. But I know how Dru works with community members of all political persuasions to accomplish great things. I believe that she will work across the aisle to change and improve important issues that face Fairfield.
I know that Dru Georgiadis will work harder for our community than anyone else and she will do a excellent job in Hartford as our state representative for the 132nd District.
